The New Crosstab in SAP Lumira Discovery - 1

Crosstabs are commonly used in representing and organizing raw data. They are best suited for displaying simple relationship between the qualitative and the corresponding categorical value and help in providing both summary and granular level details which sometimes charts fail to convey.

Let’s look at some of the new features in SAP Lumira Discovery crosstab:

  1. Context Menu
  2. Hierarchy
  3. Swap axis
  4. Number formatting
  5. Conditional Formatting
  6. Filter/exclude
  7. Sorting/ ranking
  8. Look and feel
  9. Calculated key fig

1. Context Menu

A major upgrade from the older version is the enhanced context menu. Just right click and one can access all the important feature/functionalities of the crosstab.

Drill Path – It helps choose the drilldown path in case the dimensions have more than one hierarchy drilldown paths.

3. Swap Axis

Just like the crosstab in SAP Lumira Designer the swap axis option has been included in the SAP Lumira Discovery Crosstab as well. Thus, giving the user the ability to toggle axis on runtime.

4. Number Format

Now it is easier formatting numbers in crosstab using the number format property where one can setup their own scaling factor and decimal places with the display options.

5. Conditional Formatting

Just like other components in SAP Lumira discovery, the crosstab can now leverage the conditional formatting rules set for the whole dashboard in general instead of component specific conditional formatting rules. Also, one can enable, disable and edit conditional formatting rule on runtime, thanks to the new context menu-

6. Filter/Exclude

In SAP Lumira 1.X you would have noticed that one could filter only on the dimensions present in the crosstab. With SAP Lumira 2.0 this limitation has been overcome. One can now filter on any dimension present in the data source irrespective of it being present in the crosstab.
