The wait is over as SAP has announced the big release of SAC Analytic Application. Popularly known as SAC Analytic Application or SAC Application Design (App Design). SAP Analytics Cloud Application Design is GA from version 2019.8.
SAC Analytic Application which could potentially be the enterprise application designing tool, allows you to utilize ad-hoc content and then take it one step further by customizing and configuring the behavior of UI elements with a set of specific script API elements. It is a Lumira Designer type application, but on the cloud, which also brings together in-built planning and predictive capabilities.
If you are an existing SAP Analytics Cloud user, you will immediately notice the similarities in functionality between the widgets and components in Analytic Application and Stories. The flexibility of these applications ranges from simple static dashboards with just a few charts and tables to complex and highly customized applications with custom layouts and interactivity options created with scripts that provide numerous options to browse and navigate data. This will be the go-to tool for developers as well as data consumers in the future.
SAC Analytic Application is maturing fast. With SAP moving from a bi-weekly to a quarterly release cycle, we can expect some great new features and updates in every release cycle. SAP’s roadmap for Analytic Application looks promising with a lot of improvements in data connectivity, flexibility in developing applications and also some intuitive collaborative features. Above all, the licensing is included as part of the SAP Analytics Cloud subscription itself. Looking forward to some exciting dashboarding using SAC Analytic Application!
