SAP released SAP Lumira 2.1 on December 15, 2017 for all three components: Discovery (SAP Lumira Discovery 2.1), Designer (SAP Lumira Designer 2.1) and Server. The focus has been on the following key enhancements apart from break fixes (usually addressed in patch releases).

Key Highlights
The following is a high-level summary of the 10 main features which have been introduced in the latest version include:
1. Linked Analysis
Charts can be used as a dynamic filter for selected visualizations apart from insert controls, page and story level filters.

2. Measure based filtering in Charts
Measures can be used in combination with dimensions on a visualization to provide range based filtering along with categorical values.

3. Visibility of hierarchy in filters
The hierarchy structures are maintained within a filter, enabling ease of navigation.

4. Formatting for controls
Controls which are used for on screen filter options now can be formatted at the header and body text sections.

5. Enhancements to time-series charts
Apart from date and time hierarchies, we can also generate individual elements from date/time fields. These can be leveraged effectively in the time series charts.

6. Trendline
Forecasting options using regression and trend analysis on charts is back again.

7. Ad-hoc data comparison

8. Conditional formatting for measures
Conditional formatting options have been extended even to both measures and dimensions.

9. PDF export enhancements
PDF exports have a better quality and have option to show filters and crosstabs used in a story/page in the appendix.

10. Other enhancements
Scheduling : Broadcast predefined documents (PDF/LUMX) in BI Launchpad and CMC
Save without data : Enhancement in option to save documents without sensitive data
Publishing data to SAP HANA using local or managed OLAP connections
Create online documents using SAP BW on the BI Launchpad using Lumira server
Support for single server ad-on and better data-security X.509 authentication and SLC
