This is part of the SAP Lumira Discovery blog series.
In this blog we have mainly focused on ‘Ad-hoc data comparison’ which is a new feature in SAP Lumira Discovery 2.1. This feature helps us to compare the selected measures in the chart and also shows the summary of those measures in a new tab when lasso is done.
Let us see step by step procedure to enable Ad-hoc data comparison feature in SAP Lumira Discovery below.
In SAP Lumira Discovery 2.1, For few charts there is an option to compare the selected data. To do this, maximize the chart or open in Preview mode and right click over it. In the context menu there will be an option as ‘Enable Ad-hoc Data Comparison’ as shown in the below screenshot.

After enabling this feature, when two data values are selected, the difference and the difference percentage of the selected data values will be shown as shown in the below screenshot.

When more than two data values are selected or lasso is done, the summary of the selected data values will be shown in a separate view as shown in the below screen shot. This summary view will have the Number of selected data values, Sum, Average, Minimum, Maximum and Median information.
It also has two-page view, one with bar chart and another one with the tag cloud chart as shown in the below screenshots.
